As an uncontrolled airport close to four major controlled airports, Guelph Airpark offers the best of both worlds to flight training:
1. The less pressured, less restrictive uncontrolled environment where students can improve their flying skills and airmanship in the nearby practice area.
2. The controlled environment, where students will be exposed to instrument approaches, control zones, clearances and air traffic control instructions.
Facilities at the airpark include flight training and charter service, aircraft rental, fuel sales, aircraft maintenance, hangar storage and a restaurant. DFC is located just outside the Greater Toronto Area (less than 30 minutes from the city of Toronto) at a quiet controlled airport with paved runways and practice area adjacent to the airport. DFC operates a satellite base from the Greenbank Airport approximately 15 nm north of Oshawa which allows the students to gain experience flying out of a grass strip.
