Pending Legislation

C6  “An Act to amend the Aeronautics Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts”.     This bill replaces and mirrors the former Bill C-62, which expired when the last election was called.  This legislation provides the basis for the implementation of Saftey Mangement Systems and provides for other safety regulations.  ATAC will continue to monitor the developments of this legislation.  Press Release First Reading C5 "An Act respecting the establishment of the Public Health Agency of Canada and amending certain Acts" This legislation includes changes to the rules regarding quarantine.  ATAC will continue to monitor the legislation to determine the impact it may have on our members or the traveling public.  First Reading C11 "Canada Transportation Act" amendments announced in Parliament.  This act replaces the former Bill C44 and contains the following provisions regarding air policy: Authority for the Minister to regulate greater transparency on air fares, if needed, Former integration of the airline complaints commissioner in the CTA Authority for Minister to review mergers and acquisitions; and Expands the Minister’s authority to collect data.
