Heather has been the Director of Flight Operations at Transwest Air since December 2006, overseeing their CAR 702-705 operations. In this position, she is responsible for overall safety, for maintaining control of operations, and for setting and maintaining operational standards for flight crews and all aircraft operated. In addition to her DFO role, Heather implemented the company's SMS and currently oversees it's operations. As a third generation professional pilot, Heather is a Saab 340 Captain and training Captain. She has a passion for teaching and, as a result, instructs at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic for the Commercial Pilot Program and is a first aid instructor for the Red Cross.
Heather achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1999. She was the recipient of the Air Transport Association of Canada Paul Mulrooney Memorial Award of Excellence in 2011 and the Wings Magazine Top 20 Under 40 in 2015. She has served on the Board of the Air Transport Association of Canada since 2013.
