Mike Skrobica Celebrates 20 Years at ATAC


ATAC warmly congratulates Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Mike Skrobica, for 20 years of loyal service to ATAC and to the aviation community in Canada.


First hired in 1996 by then CEO John Crichton as Vice President, Finance, Mike has since become one of Canada’s leading subject matter expert in aviation security, industry monetary affairs, airports and facilitation. Mike has been an invaluable asset to ATAC members all these years and we proudly extend our heartfelt congratulations for his numerous accomplishments on behalf of ATAC members.


ATAC Congratulates Jean Laroche, Recently Received Fellow by the Royal Aeronautical Society

The director of the research and development of the aviation training center (CQFA), Jean Laroche, was honored by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). The London Society awarded him the rank of Fellow for his outstanding contribution to the advancement of aeronautics, particularly in the field of education.

Jean LaRoche learned some time ago that his candidacy had been submitted and accepted by the RAeS. The society founded in 1866 and sponsored by the Queen of England brings together aviation experts from around the world whose research and work advance the field of aviation and aerospace.

Article in the Le Quotidien (French Article)

December 14th, 2015 FAA NOTAM Amended

Airlines were at no point in time affected by the December 14 FAA NOTAM. However, Commercial General Aviation (i.e. Flight schools) was impacted. The revised FAA NOTAM issued January 16, 2016 restores the exemption to Commercial General Aviation provided they meet the requirements in Part 6 – Special Security of the NOTAM pertaining to the continuous transmission of an ATC assigned transporter code.
