ATAC’s Industry Symposium on Regulatory Services a Success

Ottawa, May 12, 2011.   ATAC is very proud to report that the Industry Symposium was very successful. In total, 20 recommendations were tabled by eight different national and regional aviation and aerospace associations.

Joining ATAC for this first assembly of the aeronautics community were the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA), the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA), the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA), the Canadian Airports Council (CAC), the Helicopter Association of Canada (HAC), the Manitoba Aviation Council (MAC), the National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC), the Northern Air Transport Association (NATA), the Saskatchewan Aviation Council (SAC), and the Floatplane Operators  Association of British Columbia (FOABC).

Not only was the Canadian air transport community very well represented by both regional and national associations, but also by carriers from every region of Canada.   All expressed their appreciation for the work done and the consensus and community building that this gathering generated.

Final recommendations will be grouped into two or three major themes of suggested corrective action plans and presented to the Minister of Transport in June by a delegation made up of representatives from many of the Symposium's participating associations.

The set of recommendations to be presented to the Minister will thereafter be posted on the ATAC website.
