
ATAC is pleased to report a very successful AGM and Tradeshow in Quebec City with approximately 500 delegates in attendance. Our Plenary Session on November 16 entitled "Aviation in A Recovering Economy" was very well received. The David Charles Abramson Memorial Flight Instructor Safety Award - the 2009 recipient is Harvey Penner, President and Chief Flight Instructor of Harv's Air, Pilot Training in Manitoba.
Webster Memorial Trophy Award - Top Amateur Pilot of the Year - the 2009 recipient is Cory Raby from Algonquin College in Ottawa, ON and Runner-Up is Kevin Dhaliwal, trained by Coastal Pacific in Abbotsford, BC
ATAC Honorary Life Membership Award - the 2009 recipient is Jim Glass, Transwest Air. The Association's highest award - to individuals who during their lifetime have contributed significantly to the improvement of the Association and the Canadian air transport industry as a whole.
ATAC Honour Roll - awarded posthumously to Paul Mulrooney, former President of Air
Georgian Limited - a true Canadian aviator, a professional pilot, respected businessman and forever dedicated to his family, Paul will always be remembered for his passion and dedication in providing the Canadian aviation industry a strong public image.
ATAC Paul Mulrooney Memorial Award of Excellence - as a further tribute to Paul Mulrooney, ATAC was pleased to launch this year a special award. This award will be given annually to an employee of an operator member company who has demonstrated progressive advancement to and within management positions. The first award will be presented at our 2010 conference November 7-9 in Vancouver, BC.
