ATAC Appoints a New President and CEO

The Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC) is pleased to announce that Ms. Julie Mailhot has been appointed as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. ATAC is a preeminent association representing Canada’s air carriers and flight training organizations since 1934.


As the first woman to be appointed as ATAC President and CEO, Julie brings a wealth of aviation experience ranging from Air Georgian, where she was the Chief Operation Officer, Air Canada, where she progressed through many managerial responsibilities, and the International Aviation Transport Association (IATA), where she was Regional Director. Operations Safety and Security - The Americas.


Throughout her career Julie has dealt with complex regulatory matters, and championed initiatives that drive safety, sustainability, and operational experience. Fluent in both English and French, she has advocated for commercial aviation in national and international forums, ensuring alignment between regulatory bodies and industry.


ATAC Chair Christian Busch stated that “The ATAC Board of Directors and staff look forward to Julie’s leadership in this new chapter in the association ‘s continued commitment to a safe, world leading, and sustainable Canadian air transport industry”.


She will start her mandate on August 18.
