President's Message - September 2026

As we move into the fall season, I am pleased to share that preparations are well underway for ATAC's 92nd Annual Conference and Tradeshow, taking place in Vancouver from November 17-19, 2026.

This year's conference comes at a pivotal time for Canadian aviation. Our industry continues to navigate both challenges and opportunities, making collaboration, innovation, and engagement more important than ever. Over the past several months, the ATAC team has been working closely with regulators, industry leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to develop a conference program that addresses the issues that matter most to our members and helps move Canadian aviation forward.

A key strength of our conference is the collective expertise that shapes it. Through the dedicated efforts of our committees and working groups, we are identifying priority topics, engaging leading subject matter experts, and creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue. These contributions help ensure that the conference remains a valuable platform for sharing knowledge, advancing industry initiatives, and developing practical solutions to the challenges facing aviation across Canada.

Our conference agenda will focus on critical issues impacting operators, flight training units, maintenance organizations, airports, and aviation businesses of all sizes. By bringing together regulators, industry experts, and decision-makers, we aim to foster productive discussions that support the continued growth, safety, and sustainability of our sector.

I am particularly excited about this year's pre-conference workshop, which will focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations. As sustainability expectations continue to evolve across the aviation sector, ESG is becoming an increasingly important part of strategic planning and business operations. This workshop will provide participants with valuable insights, practical guidance, and an opportunity to explore how organizations can address these important considerations while remaining competitive and resilient.

The development of this year's conference program has been a true industry-wide effort. Through the dedication of our committees, regulators, subject matter experts, stakeholders, sponsors, exhibitors, and partners, we are building a conference that reflects the priorities of our membership and addresses the issues most critical to the future of Canadian aviation.

As we finalize the program in the coming weeks, I encourage you to make plans to join us in Vancouver. The ATAC Conference remains Canada's premier forum for bringing together operators, training organizations, maintenance providers, suppliers, regulators, and industry leaders. Together, we will explore the opportunities and challenges facing our sector, advance important discussions, and continue shaping a strong and sustainable future for Canadian aviation.

Most importantly, I look forward to connecting with many of you in person. One of the greatest strengths of our association is the opportunity to come together, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Whether during a conference session, at our tradeshow, or through informal conversations with colleagues and partners, these interactions help strengthen our industry and the work we do collectively.
