COVID-19 and NAV Canada

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

ATAC has been in contact with NAV Canada regarding preparedness for prolonged disruptions due to the COVID-19 outbreak. They informed us that work continuity plans are in place to deal with potential staffing shortages or facility closures due to the virus.

While all efforts are being made to ensure all staff remain healthy, if a facility becomes short staffed, services may be restricted during certain times of the day. Any changes to levels of service would be advised via NOTAM. Where Airports have high concentrations of flight training, Nav Canada will work with Transport Canada on the type of traffic flow management program required to maintain safe operations.
